Inside the building there may be powder or foam fire extinguishers suitable for extinguishing flames that have attacked solid materials (paper, wood, plastic, fabric, etc.) or liquids.
The duration of the powder spray of a standard 6 kg fire extinguisher is about 10 seconds. They can be used on live electrical equipment (foam up to 1000 V).

If the fire involves solid materials (paper, wood, plants, fabric, etc.) direct the jet continuously until the flames are completely extinguished.

Even in the case of fire involving liquids, it is necessary to proceed in such a way as to cover the entire surface affected by the flames with the extinguishing agent, paying attention to any re-ignition due to the presence of flammable vapours. Small fires involving liquids inside containers can be extinguished simply by covering the opening with the lid or with a fire blanket, but it is absolutely necessary to avoid the use of water, as this is not suitable and is extremely dangerous on oil fires.

Never direct the jet at people.
